Christian Louboutin, the famed shoe designer known for the red soles on his footwear took an interesting approach for his fall 2011 look book.
Louboutin, along with photographer, Peter Lippman, took the notion that fashion is like art to a very literal level.
To showcase Louboutin’s fall line, his shoes are integrated into classical portraitures including the famous Whistler’s Mother.
Truthfully I think this collection isn’t his best (plz refer to the heinous shoe resting in Whistler’s Mother’s lap.) Nevertheless it’s a cool idea and I love any attempt to bring art into the mainstream.
I wonder if this would be considered plagiarism, considering Louboutin’s fall 2011 look book “used” classical portraits to show case his footwear. I wrote a paper when I was studying at Queen’s about whether one could be charged with plagiarism when it comes to art, since most artists find “inspiration” in other artists work for their own. I think this look-book could cause quite a debate.. what do you think?
H & M is known for their collaborations with high-end designers and their up-coming partnership is very exciting for a broke wanna-be fasionista like me.
H & M has announced that Ms. Dontatella Versace herself has designed an exclusive collection for men, women and home for H & M’s Fall season.
According to a press release published by H & M, “The exclusive collection will look back to the vibrant heritage of the brand, full of leather, print, color and exuberance in exclusive materials at fantastic H&M prices.”
The collection becomes available on Nov. 17 in selected stores and online.
This is a great opportunity for Versace to introduce their high-end brand to shoppers who would normally not be able to afford to the luxurious company’s clothing (like me.)
Ms. Versace herself debuted one of the dresses from the Versace for H&M collection at the Versace men’s fashion show in Milan on June 20.

After spending so much time preparing for the past two interviews I had, I found myself asking a lot of question like, “what’s it going be like at my first (well technically second) PR internship.”
I found this great article which, asks 7 PR experts ‘What is the single most important thing you will say to a person starting a new job in PR?’
What a great resource for someone like me whose about to embark on her first PR job!
Reading over the article there was a lot of great information but, Jody Koehler advice really stood out to me.
Even though U.S. President Barack Obama’s twitter account @BrackObama has been active since 2007, its been discovered that the President’s staff, not the President himself was tweeting from the account.
The @BrackObama twitter account was initiated for the President’s campaign for office.
The President has confessed to a group of Chinese students in a visit to Shanghai, that, “I have never used Twitter. My thumbs are too clumsy to type in things on the phone.”
That changed in 2010 when the President Tweeted for the first time in support of the @RedCross account.
Its been reported that President Barack Obama will start regularly tweeting from his official Twitter account. The President will be signing tweets of his own “-BO.”
It’s very likely that tweets from the President will cause extreme enthusiasm (and retweets) from his supporters.
The President who has 8,713,864 followers tweeted yesterday in honour of Father’s day.
